Meet Stijn Verwulgen, the ingenious CEO of Innovante, who has revolutionized cycling with his groundbreaking invention - FAAST, the ultimate training bike! FAAST is not your average bike; it's a cutting-edge cycling simulator that mimics the physics of real cycling. By continuously monitoring the cyclist's posture in 3D, FAAST calculates the drag coefficient and required power output in real-time, delivering an authentic cycling experience like never before! To calculate the aerodynamic drag for each user, FAAST offers two approaches. One is a low-end solution that plugs in a standard value in the software. However, for unparalleled accuracy, the personalized approach is used. In this case, VSC introduced Puxano (a biotech company offering structure-based protein research services to pharma and biotech companies) to the Data Science Institute of UHasselt (DSI). DSI brings together over 150 researchers working in the broad field of data science across faculties and research groups at Hasselt University. For Puxano DSI redesigned the scope of the project of the Proconder platform. With VSC's help, Puxano was able to redesign the scope of their project on the Proconder platform.
