The Flemish Supercomputer Center (VSC), in collaboration with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), is looking for a Business Developer to strengthen its engagement with industry and public sector partners.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced computing, innovation, and real-world applications—helping organizations unlock the potential of high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies.
Driving innovation through collaboration
As part of the VSC team at VUB, you will play a key role in connecting companies, SMEs, and public administrations with VSC’s advanced computing services. You will work closely with the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) office, supporting users beyond academia and translating their challenges into impactful HPC solutions.
The role is also embedded in EuroCC Belgium, where you will lead activities on User Needs Analysis and Service Management. In this capacity, you will guide organizations toward the most suitable HPC, AI, and advanced computing services within both the Flemish and European ecosystem.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Identify and engage new RDI users from industry and public sectors
Analyze user needs and translate them into tailored HPC solutions
Build and maintain strong networks with companies, innovation hubs, and university valorization offices
Promote VSC and EuroHPC services at national and international events
Follow up on leads and manage stakeholder relationships through CRM systems
Contribute to reporting, service improvement, and user retention strategies
Support marketing, outreach, and documentation efforts
Your profile
We are looking for a candidate who combines technical affinity with strong communication and networking skills:
A master’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Interest in IT, digital innovation, or advanced computing
Experience with HPC, AI, or data science is an asset
Affinity with industrial research and innovation ecosystems in Flanders
Strong communication and presentation skills
Fluency in English and Dutch
