Introduction to VSC Tier-1 Data @KU Leuven

Description

Tier-1 Data is a data management platform for HPC users. It provides researchers a persistent, secure location to store their  data between jobs, and gives them the tools to manage this data according to best practices. This is achieved through a  metadata module, granular rights management, and the option to automate workflows. Users can access their data through different clients like a command-line interface, a web portal, a Python API and Globus.

The session will contain the following elements:

• An overview of Tier-1 Data and its functionalities

• A brief demonstration of the web portal

• Hands-on exercises with the command-line interface
